Ok so I can't affort to collect really expensive guns. So one day I realized that I already owned a few cheap guns that are quite famous because of their roles in prominant assasinations.
I know it's not PC but you can't deny it's part of history.
I own an 8-shot Iver Johnson 22 like the one that got Robert Kennedy.
I have a Charter arms 38 like the one that got John Lennon.
I have a Mauser like Oswald's.
I have a little Browning like the one that started WW1.
I'd like to get a few more for my private "museum"
The neat thing about this as a hobby is that it's SOOOO cheap! Most crime guns are considered junk guns and usually sell for under 100 bucks. For example, I am looking for a Rohm R6-14 revolver like the one Hinckley used. They can be bought in decent condition for about 25 bucks
I'd like to put a list together of famous crime guns so I can keep my eyes peeled for copies of them at gun shows.
Anyone know where I could find such a list?
I hope no one considers this a sick hobby. It's an interesting part of our history to me and that's all.
*EDIT - Oh, I also have an AK and drums like those in the famous LA shootout, but I don't consider that as part of my collection. I am really only interested in cheap guns used in the assasination (or attrempted assasination) of prominant historical figures. So I have no intrest in things like a Columbine style tech-9 for instance.
