I doubt there will be any more cocobolo from Hogue. It's no longer being imported so you might want to grab whatever you can find while you still can.
 
Or if there are any better/cheaper alternatives?

Depends. Is it a carry gun for her? I've heard of some people developing serious allergy problems to cocobolo with frequent skin (or respiratory) contact.
 
Hogue made some Cocobolo grips for me shortly after the import ban was announced. Best to contact them directly.
 
Regarding the issue of respiratory contact, that generally happens with the inhalation of sawdust from working with the wood. It is not as frequent from handling certain woods. Often times the finish (laquer, permalyn, Tru-Oil) will provide a barrier between one's epidermis and the wood. That said, an individual should be aware of what their body can tolerate. We were warned of it at school.
