My spousal critter bought herself a 22/45 Lite last summer. She has very long hands and finds the stock grip too small. I'll probably get her a wrap-around rubber grip for Christmas. Does anyone know which has a thicker or more palm-swelled grip panel, the Houge or the Tandemkross Hive?

She wants a symmetrical grip so she can practice with either hand for single-handed shooting. I'm leaning toward the Hogue since the finger grooves don't extend around onto the side panels, but that may not be a deal-breaker.

Nobody?

I would suggest looking for 1911 grips that meet your requirements. The holes will line up and will only require some minor trimming (upper left corner of the left grip panel) to make it clear the controls.

Knowing this opens up a pretty large selection of grips from inexpensive (magpul) to very expensive. In any event, you will have lots of choices, just make your choice realizing there will be some minor trimming.

EDIT to add: If the grip you want is anything other than smooth on the inside, they will not work. The 1911 wood/rubber pacmeyers will not work- the medallions are held on with a nut or something that would extend into the cavity behind the grips panels on a normal 1911. That cavity does not exist on the 22/45 if I remember correctly.

Here's a pic of my Volqs/PacLite build where I used some standard 1911 style grips.

Why whittle on a pair of regular 45 grips when you can buy them made to fit the 22/45 lite from Stoner. I have a set and they are excellent and fit perfectly.

Contact JP grips. They can make full 1911 thickness panels for the RP and whatever bushings you have. They bottom rear is also radiused properly.
