It's my fault.
I was using reloads, and everything seemed to fine, but apparently there were 3 rounds at the end of the magazine whose primers were not seated deeply enough. I always check, but must have gotten lazy.
It was quite exhilarating firing .308 full auto again, haven't done it since 1987 in the Marines. Tough to control that light rifle for a 4 round burst. Nobody hurt, no damage done to the rifle.
Reloaders, be careful and make sure those primers are seated DEEP.
