I've ever shot, and WHAT A BLAST THAT WAS!

Went to the range today with a friend from work. I arrived late and then shot up all of his .45ACP in his glock, and outshot him at the same time. Let him put a couple hundred through my AK. That wasn't good enough for me, since it was my first time shooting with this guy I had to make it the best range experience he'd ever had.

Well, the place we went to rents a small variety of full auto firearms. An M16, an Uzi, a m3a1, and.. the beloved thompson. I proposed the idea by saying "I want to rent a full-auto" we walked back out, asked about em, and both agreed on the tommy.

Got 200rds for it and headed back in. wow, man that was a blast! FA was nothing like I expected it to be, totally easy to control and completely enjoyable! The recoil was almost non-existant. It was great, man. However, I don't think my AK liked it too much.. I loaded another 10 rounds before we headed home and fired em off. The last round had a FTE! OH NO! She's jealous or angry or both! Never had that happen before EVER!

Incredible, and absolutely awesome!

I've been grinning non-stop for the last 45 minutes to an hour =) Called everybody I know already, some I've called twice cuz I forgot I called em.

Did it have the Cutts compensator on it?

I have a semi auto Tommy; big fun to shoot. It is such a heavy gun that the 45 ACP just has no kick at all. Probably the easiest FA gun to shoot around.

Never fired a Tommy gun, I have fired a M3 grease gun. Two 20 round sticks from 25m, hit the silhouette once. The NCOIC said, Boy you better pray you never get issued one of those.

The range here in houston has the same selection for full autos.
I rented the UZI. Just like you said: no recoil, controlable, accurate, and FUN!

Texasred, it's quite possible you and I went to the same range. Pasadena Gun Center?

Yeah, nah no foregrip or compensator on it. Quite an awesome experience, I'm still happy about it =)

Took a while to figure out how to use it though. Safety and giggle switch operation was a sinche, but I've never shot or handled an open bolt SMG before so that was totally new to me. Once I got it down I was good to go though.

ETA - FTE - failure to eject. Coulda been my tapco sidefolder blocking the charging handle but I've never had that happen before.

I think a better question would be - what didn't I like about it :) accurate (atleast out to 20 yards), easy to control, didn't jam any, full auto =))), didn't pay much attention to the trigger. Sites were kinda funky, but worked. I didn't much care for the magazine system though, with that guide rod thing on the magazines that you have to precisely line up. Awesome awesome firearm =)
