I've been wanting a Smith & Wesson 25-2 Model 1955 for quite a while now, mostly because I have this thing for .45 ACP revolvers and because this Model of 1955 happens to be my birth year, and I'm a corny nut sometimes.

Found this unfired specimen online recently and secured it for a fair price.

I find her too pretty not to share a couple of pictures.

Congratulations on your great find. The model 25 is one of the most accurate revolvers available. I have had several but now have the 625 stainless version. Enjoy shooting your new toy.

Unfired while in my custody is a contradiction in terms for any guns I happen to own: this one will see action come Monday, as sure as dawn.

I didn't set out to find an unfired one, this was just dumb luck. It will certainly be well cared for though.

I sold two others in order to afford this one; I would have sold three if I had to. I would not have sold them all. So this one fits well in many ways.

A brief range report will follow, assuming I've not been snookered.

Very nice specimen. They are not only beautiful, they are great shooters.

I have an old Smith, a M66-1, and the trigger on that thing is superb. I would never sell it. I've been lusting after a S&W .45 moon clip gun for years, almost bought a 625 JM, but price was a bit too high. Some day.

I have a S&W 25-2 with the 8 3/8" barrel. It has been refinished but shoots like it has eyes. Last year, I took a whitetail doe with it at 50 yds using handloads at about 900 fps. The hard cast SWC was a perfect pass-through and she dropped after about a 35 yd dash.

Love that 25!
