My experience tonight

I guess my dog was asleep at the switch on this one. Usually, he barks at nothing. This time, I didnt hear anything. My only guess on the reason is that he already knew we were in the garage (or in and out of it), so he assumed it was us walking up front. Really, just more proof that I can't rely on him for this, 100% anyway. I have no doubt he wouldnt allow anyone in the back yard, but the front is fair game.

Had something similar happen about two years ago.

Beautiful fall morning. Kids are out in the street playing football and what not. My next door neighbor (whom I got along with) was playing soccer in his backyard with his young son.

I'm thinking nothing of it as I waste time poking around on the internet. Out of the blue, my mutt (chocolate lab/husky) goes apes**t and runs snarling out the dog door. I immediately grab my gun and follow suit (minus the drooling snarling thing) I run out the door and around the corner to find my neighbor cornered with my dog ready to take him apart. I can just imagine he was scared enough with the dog, but then to see its owner round the corner with a gun pointed at his head. :what:

He maintained his bowels though...not sure I could have. Turns out his son had kicked the ball over the wall. I'd given him permission to hop the wall as it had never been a problem. Every time after that, he has knocked. :)
