My first 1911 a Taurus PT 1911 SS

I went to the range yesterday with my first 1911 a Taurus PT 1911 SS. I fired about 300 rounds of Winchester White Box 230 Grain FMJ without any malfunctions. The only problem I had was with 2 US GI Surplus Magazines occussionally not coming out when I hit the Magazine Release and not Locking the Slide Back when I fired all of the rounds out of the magazine. I fired at targets from 3 yards out to 25 yards and I was very pleased with the accuracy.

At 3 Yards on a Human Siloutte Target firing at the Center of Mass as Fast as I could I had all seven rounds within about 2 inches

At 3 Yards on a Shoot and See Target I had all seven rounds within about 1 1/4 inches

At 5 Yards on a Human Siloutte Target firing at the Center of Mass as fast as I could I had all eight rounds within about 3 1/2 inches

At 5 Yards on a Shoot and See Target I had all eight rounds within about 1 3/4 inches

At 7 Yards on a Human Siloutte Target firing at the Center of Mass as fast as I could I had all seven rounds within about 4 1/2 inches

At 7 Yards on a Shoot and See Target I had all seven rounds within about 2 1/2 inches

At 10 Yards on a Human Siloutte Target firing at the Center of Mass as fast as I could I had all eight rounds with about 5 3/4 inches

At 10 Yards on a Shoot and See Target I had all eight rounds with in about 3 1/2 inches

At 15 Yards on a Human Siloutte Target firing at the Center of Mass as fast as I could I had all seven rounds within about 7 inches

At 15 Yards on a Shoot and See target I had all seven rounds within about 5 inches

At 20 Yards on a Human Siloutte Target firing at the Center of Mass I had all sixteen shots within about 8 1/2 inches

At 25 Yards on a Human Siloutte Target firing at the Center of Mass I had all fourteen shots with in about 13 1/4 inches

I am overall very pleased with my new weapon

I got a pt1911ss in Feb, I was almost scared to buy it after reading all the bad talk about Taurus hear but Im very glad I did.
Ive put thosands of rounds of whatever I can find cheapest through it with no problems at all.
Everything still feels as tight as the day I got it and the trigger even got a little better.
Ive been using Chip McCormin shooting star mags and everything has worked 100%.
I got this as an upgrade for my beater 1911 but it does just as good as my more expensive 1911, Im really happy with it!
All I did was replace the grips.

THe Taurus 1911s are great guns. I have the Blued with a Rail. Only weakness is the finish. It is very soft and wears from even gentle handeling.

I bought the first blued PT1911 I could get my hands on. It has something over 1k rounds through it with zero malfunctions. When I am testing new .45 acp reloads, this is the one I use because it is so accurate.
