I usually leave the calling to my buddy. I am still new to the sport and could never call the ducks in. I went hunting alone today so I could do some calling. Right at shooting time I start calling just to warm up. Ten minutes later, I let out a little greeting call and two mallards fell out of the clouds heading right for me. I had great concealment so I took my time, tracked the drake, pulled ahead, shot and followed through. He crumpled up like a used tissue and splashed into a puddle about 15 yards away.

I spent the rest of the morning concentrating on calling above harvesting birds. I shot too early on a circling hen an hour later and crippled another that got away. If the skybusting queens did not shoot at the birds I was calling in, I would have had another shot at a group of mallards. It is so awesome having birds lock up and come in to you. I cant wait to get out hunting again.

Here he is. :D:D:D
