This is my very first Glock pistol. I've avoided them for years because they never fit me well, and I'm a S&W guy at heart.
This pistol is compact in length and height, but certainly not width. It's a double stack 10mm magazine holding 10 rounds. I've never before found any Glock pistol that I've shot or handled to be comfortable or pleasant to shoot. None of them would place the bullet where I was aiming, and they delivered 4-6" groups consistently. I flat out had nothing good to say about the Glock pistol lineup. Well, that was then, and this is now.
A friend has one and he let me shoot it some a couple months ago. I found it to be everything none of the others were. This little pistol was comfortable in hand, it was pretty accurate, and it held solid 2-3" groups easily.
Earlier this week I had the opportunity to buy this one for $450, including a Blackhawk leather holster, 3 mags, and 100 rounds of ammo to boot. I bought a hard case from the guy for another $20.
Here's the range report.
With 50 rounds sent down range, not a single malfunction. After I got settled in with it I easily shot 2-3" groups. I almost hate to say this, but I love this pistol. I'm seriously considering putting it into my carry line up and possibly a back-up woods pistol.
It was placing the bullets very consistently high and to the right, so I had the gunsmith swap the rear sight out with a taller one, and move it slightly to the right to bring the shots back on center. WOW, it cost me all of $6 to have that done, and I got to keep my original rear sight for later if I ever want to swap it back.
This pistol was custom stippled and the purchase in hand is perfect. Once you place the pistol in hand with the right fit, it's not going to move at all. Even with the substantial amount and aggressiveness of the stippling I find it very comfortable to shoot. I went thru 30 rounds and wished I would have brought more ammo with me. If this is what a 10mm pistol is all about, I guess that's going to make me a big 10MM fan.
Regards,
Gregory
