i have written to all of my representatives and let them know that i feel very strongly about this bill. i made it quite clear that my next vote (along with those of my friend's and families!) will be decided by "their vote" on this important issue. here is a reply i received from Ken Lucas- fourth district-Kentucky.

"Dear Max,
Thank you for letting know of your concerns about H.R.2038, a bill that would reauthorise the assault weapons ban of 1994. Like you, I am opposed to this bill. I am a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and my votes consistenlty reflect this philosophy.

As you know, H.R. 2038 would permanently ban every gun that is currently banned under the 1994 gun control measure. In addition, it would ban guns that were not included at that time such as ranch rifles, .30 Caliber carbines, and fixed magazine semi-automatic center-fire rifles. It also would ban all semi-automatic shotguns along with all detachable-magazine semi-automatic rifles.

Instead of passing laws to take guns out of the hands of honest citizens, we should be focused on taking guns out of the hands of criminals. We have got to get serious about targeting and prosecuting criminals.

I appreciate knowing that you are also committed to protecting our Second Amendment rights and I hope that you will continue to stay in touch.

Sincerely,
Ken Lucas
Member of Congress"

This is good news but it is only one positive response from many letters that i sent out. i am hoping to receive more replies. those who do not reply will get follow up letters every 3 or 4 weeks up until september.
those who reply favorably will get letters pledging my support and my voice to family and friends urging them to vote for our supporters in congress!(one vote is nice, but a campaigner on even the smallest level is worthy of any politicians best interest!).

BTW, thanks to NY Patriot's work at various forums spreading the word,
and providing the links to find your representatives in your state.
the links will let you send an e-mail to your rep. at no cost you, and it only takes a few minutes. (OR you can snail mail, call, fax, or anything else to get their attention)
People we need to speak up NOW, and let the politicians know we will do everything in our power to vote out those who would take away our rights!
best wishes,
Max

If any of your Senators/Congressfolks who are opposing ending the ban, make sure you send letters to whoever is running against them. If the opponent supports ending the ban, send them money.

I've already sent some money to the man who is running against one of my Senators this year. Send what you can afford, even if it's only $10 once, or $10 a month. When lots of individual snowflakes come together, they can make an avalanche.
