I saw that my local Steak and Shake restaurant has banned CCW. Here`s a copy of the e mail I sent them.

I am a regular customer of your restaurant located in Ballwin, MO. As you may know, MO. recently passed a law allowing law abiding citizens to carry concealed weapons. One facet of the law is that businesses may post a sign banning concealed weapons from the premises.
I was very disappointed, on a recent visit, to see such a sign posted at your Ballwin store. What I would like to know, is this a corporate policy or are individual franchisees allowed to make the decision to ban concealed weapons from their stores. If it is a corporate policy, I would like to know why Steak and Shake feels that allowing a law abiding citizen that has gone through a seven day waiting period with a background check to obtain a permit to purchase a concealable weapon, followed by an eight hour gun safety course, followed by further background checks by the MO. highway patrol and the FBI, poses a hazard to the safety of your employees and customers.
As you surely know, criminals don`t submit to the above mentioned process and don`t respect signs banning them from entering your stores with their weapons. Perhaps they will even be enticed to choose a posted business for a robbery knowing that the customers and staff are unarmed. If that turns out to be the case and the unthinkable happens and patrons or employees are wounded or killed in a robbery, Steak and Shake may find itself liable. By restricting a person from carrying their legal concealed weapon into your store, you have assumed responsibility for their safety.
Finally, as a twenty year customer of Steak and Shake, I will no longer patronize any of your stores that display a sign banning law abiding citizens from entering one of your restaurants with a legal concealed weapon and also will be compelled to make your position known to my family members and friends that choose to go through the process for obtaining a license to carry.
I look forward to your reply,
