After a little over a month in existance for our new police department I got the scoop today from the cops on the crime in our area. One of the Lt's is putting out an "unnofficial" newsletter. It's always good to have friends (or aquaintances) with badges

CRIME AND PUNISHMENT

This week

Well this week’s report will be a bit longer. Due to some slight problems I was unable to get the Friday Edition out there so we’ll double-up today.

Robbery

6631 Roswell Road 30328

An employee of the vacuum cleaning business said that around 3:15 p.m. a man came in and began asking questions about some of the store items. He then pulled out a gun, pushed the victim behind the counter and took money from the register and then fled.

The suspect is a black male, 5-8” 230 lbs, wearing a black t-shirt, jean shorts, and a black ball cap. No age was given on the suspect.

8445 Roswell Road (Wendy’s) 30350

At around 5 a.m. the manager of the Wendy’s arrived to open up. When he got out of his car, he was assaulted by a man, race unknown. The man forced the manager into the store and office area. He demanded the victim open the safe. The suspect took an undetermined amount of money. The victim said the suspect slammed his head into the desk however he had no signs of physical injury. The man told the officers his car was also stolen by the suspect. The report noted the fact that the camera system was not working at the time of the robbery.

Burglary

5470 Meridian Mark Drive 30342

Someone removed the victim’s purse from a drawer inside an office.

Colebridge Road 30328

Someone forced entry into a shed and took a lawnmower.

7800 block of Spalding Lake Drive 30350

The victim reported that someone entered his garage and took several items from three cars and his wallet that was lying inside the house near the garage door. One car was stolen. It is a 2000 Lexus RS300, grey in color.

5600 block of Lake Forrest Drive 30328

Someone appears to have used a saw to cut a hole in a storage shed. The thief took another saw.

6300 block of Long Island Drive 30328

Someone entered an unlocked closet off of the victim’s carport and took a Dewalt Cordless saw and a Sawzaw reciprocating saw.

4616 Roswell Road 30342

Someone entered the victim’s apartment through a window and took jewelry, a briefcase, Cross pens, gold coins, watches, sunglasses and a camera.

Theft

145 Northwood Drive 30342

Someone took a satellite dish from an apartment.

4800 block of Long Island Drive 30342

Someone took two air conditioning compressors from the side of a home.

Spruill Springs Road 30342

The victim reported that her ex-husband, who lives in New Orleans, has used her bank business card to pay for a wireless phone account, a car note, the doctor’s visit, and some other things. The chances of them getting back together are slim.

500 block of Willow Heights Drive 30328

The victim said someone took his LCD TV, laptop and 30 CD’s from his apartment. He suspects his former roommate and boyfriend of the theft.

145 Northwood Drive 30342

7355 Roswell Road 30350

A man reported that he was at the Citgo Gas Station around 10 p.m. when a woman walked up to him and said she wanted to talk to him. She then tried to kiss him. She then tried to show him her breasts. She then took his wallet from the center console of the car. No fair!

980 Hammond Drive 30328

7 laptops were stolen from Agrosy University.

9401 Roberts Drive 30350

(Here’s another good one)

The victim said that he allowed a woman to move in with him because she said she needed a place to live. She told the man (Here is what we call a clue that things could really be not good) that she used to run scams on guys to get their money and credit cards. (Sirens and flares should now be alerting this victim that nothing good will soon happen.) He reassured himself that this was a part of her past and she had reformed. (More and bigger flares and sirens)

He woke the next day and his wallet was gone. The wallet had $213 cash, credit cards, SSN information and his ID.

5667 Peachtree Dunwoody Road 30342

This is a good one. A victim reported that her Suntrust bank card has been used to withdraw money on a number of occasions. She found out that a co-worker would steal her card while the victim was in the bathroom. She would use the card and then at some point return it. She did this several times to the tune of over $3000. Once the victim found out about the charges, she worked with the bank and of course the co-worker’s photo has shown up a few times, withdrawing money on the victim’s account number. The arrest is pending. Folks, anything having to do with banks is photographed. This is pointed out in our new book “Fraud for Dummies.”

7100 block of Glenridge Drive 30328

A representative of a charity organization reported that someone obtained the organization’s bank account number and had checks made on that account and then wrote several checks on it. Several of the checks were written to department store but one was written to an insurance company which will be the last nail in the coffin for the suspects. The first nail was their names and addresses on the fraudulent checks they made. (Duh) More arrests are pending. (Also Fraud for Dummies)

7887 Roswell Road 30350

Three suspects ordered $52 of food and left without paying. The car is a Chevy Astro Van with Florida tags. The suspects are a black male, white male, and a black female. The black male and female left in the van. The white male left on foot.

4300 block of The Valley (7100 Roswell Road) 30328

A woman reported that she loaned her car to her soon to be ex-friend who has not been seen since. Her soon to be ex-friend occasionally text-messages her. She said that he has a grudge against her and is using the car to carry out his revenge. (People are strange aren’t they?) How fast would you put this guy in jail and why loan the car to someone whom you know has issues with you??????

400 block of Santa Fe Parkway 30350

Someone removed a Mezuzah from the front of the victim’s home.

Assault

Roswell Road and Mystic Place 30342

Arrests

6906 Barfield Road 30328

3 females and a male were arrested and charged with prostitution after officers checked out a limo driving with no headlights. They were able to connect the women and driver to a man who was staying in the hotel where the officers found the limo. Turns out a customer paid the women, who work in a dance club in Sandy Springs, to come to the hotel and do that thing they do. The three women and the driver were arrested. The case is being investigated further.

5600 Kingsport Drive 30342

A 59-year old man was arrested for being disorderly in public and drinking in public after an officer observed him walking down the road, heavily intoxicated, talking to himself and drinking an open bottle of Colt 45 Malt Liquor.

7100 Roswell Road 30328

A 17-year old female was arrested in relation to a domestic argument.

Roswell Road and Hammond Drive 30328

A 20-year old male was arrested for defective headlights on his car and marijuana on his person. The officer was familiar with the suspect who has been stopped for the same thing twice before. (Slow learner)

5700 block of Roswell Road 30342

A 32-year old woman was charged with drinking in public. She was at the bus stop with a Colt 45, not the gun but the beer.

5700 Roswell Road 30342

A 40-year old man was arrested for Criminal Trespass and Possession of Cocaine after he returned to an area the officers told him not to return to. (Known drug area)

The man returned and was arrested. He had a crack pipe in his potato-chip bag.

7555 Roswell Road 30350

A 40-year old man was arrested after his customer got mad, wadded up a piece of paper, threw it at him, hitting him in the face, and then threatening to beat him up.

290 Hildebrand Drive 30328

A 25-year old woman was charged with Disorderly Conduct after she got booted from the Punchline Club and ended up in the parking lot. She was drunk and mean and saying a lot of really bad stuff so she had to go to jail.

5801 Kingsport Drive 30342

A 38-year old man was arrested after officers had to return to a noise complaint just after midnight. They previously told the man to leave but he did not. When they returned, he called them a (^#&#$%) and a (%#&^#%#) so he also went to jail.

Fenwick Place 30350

Officers received a call of loud people in the parking lot in front of an apartment. The men were drinking but good-natured so the officers asked them if they would go inside. They did. Around 1:45 a.m. the officers got another call. One of the good-natured guys was now mad at his girlfriend so he punched seven holes in the drywall with his fist and becoming disorderly, probably saying things like “Boy my fist really hurts now.” Actually he didn’t say that until the next day but the other once good-natured guys couldn’t calm him down so he was arrested.

Roswell Road and I-285 30342

A 49-year old man was arrested after an officer saw him standing near a building. The man seemed out of place so the officer talked with him for a few minutes. The officer asked if he could check him for weapons for safety reasons. The man didn’t have any weapons but did have a crack pipe on him. He was arrested.

6400 Roswell Road 30328

A 35-year old man was charged with Possession of Marijuana following a traffic stop. The bag was in his pocket.

1600 block of Wingate Way 30350

A 38-year old man was arrested for Carrying a Concealed Weapon (CCW) after officers got a call regarding suspicious, possibly drug activity in the apartment complex. The man was in a pickup truck around 11:30 p.m. when the officer arrived. During the interview with the man, the officer learned the man had a Beretta .32 caliber gun under some paper in the front of the truck. Lying next to the gun was a crack pipe. On page 23 of “Guns and Drugs for Dummies” its recommended that you hide the gun in a separate place from the crack pipe.

1050 Hammond Drive 30350

A 35-year old man was arrested for Possession of Marijuana after officers were called to a hotel regarding a dispute. The hotel management kicked the man out because he didn’t pay his bill. An argument ensued and the police were called. When the officers went to the room, they smelled the odor of marijuana and while talking to the man, found the same in his pocket. He was arrested.

215 Northwood Drive 30342

A 31-year old man was arrested around 1 a.m. after he took a taxi to a club and then refused to pay the driver. He became loud and verbally abusive, adding to his intoxication, so he went to jail.

I-285 and Roswell Road 30342

A 44-year old man was arrested for soliciting money on the freeway ramp.

Same location, a 39-year old man was arrested for Criminal Trespass after he returned following being ordered not to.

5400 block of Roswell Road 30342

Just after midnight, an officer made a traffic-stop on a car for an obscured tag.

The driver was later arrested for a concealed weapon, a Ruger .45 auto with a laser sight on it. The man told the officer it was his girlfriend’s gun, which, in street-talk means “It’s easier to find a new girlfriend than it is to get out of jail.” He was arrested and at some point when she wants to see the police report, he will also be out.

5501 Glenridge Drive 30342

A 38-year old man was arrested for Simple Battery (domestic) after police were called to a disturbance.

On July 28th sixteen cars were involuntary cemented when a cement truck accidentally started spilling cement while traveling on I-285 East near Northside Drive. The company is working to repair the damages to the cars.

Other Stuff

The Dollar Store employee at 8610 Roswell Road reported that two black males came in and paid for merchandise with two one-hundred dollar bills. When the employee went to the bank, they told him the money was counterfeit. The bills were turned over to the Secret Service.

What did we learn?

It was a bad week if you were drinking Colt 45

Be selective as to whom you let stay at your home and if they talk about their criminal past, take the hint.

Don’t tailgate cement trucks

Think about the consequences before you blame your girlfriend for anything.

Lock you cars, even inside the garage.

Lock your doors everywhere.

True love doesn’t mean it won’t end in theft.

Crack pipes and guns aren’t easily hid.

There were a few more things but this report is long enough! I’ll get to the other stuff later.

Stay off Roswell road, lot going down there.

We have some streets like that in parts of Dallas, places where its never a good idea to fully stop at stop signs. God forbid if you find yourself there at night.

“Boy my fist really hurts now.”
Sounds like my uncle

He now has no license and never will because he got his third DUI

How did this third dui happen?

A week after getting his license back from DUI #2 he was at a club and in a state he often is. There was a fight in the parking lot (not involving him) and he was annoying one of the officers who told him to leave. Can we see where this is going? Yes he got into the car and drove off after staggering to his car right infront of the officer.

No, most of my family isn't that smart.

Sounds like Sandy Springs.

Yeah, they are all nice and humorous about it now.. give it another 6 months and they'll revert right back to the way Fulton conducted business.

They have to find a way to fund the best paid police force in GA.. and I can assure you, they're not going to get that money from harassing people drinking malt liquor at bus stops... they'll do it the same way Fulton did... harassing everyone and their brother for whatever they can dream up...

Let's not forget the incident on Roswell road where an arresting officer let loose a shotgun load full of pellets on two individuals inside of a car... because they opened their window after he "knocked" on it with his shotgun. How did that turn out, anyway?

An employee of the vacuum cleaning business said that around 3:15 p.m. a man came in and began asking questions about some of the store items. He then pulled out a gun, pushed the victim behind the counter and took money from the register and then fled.
see theres guns

What are SS's bounds? My sister lives in the 30328 zip code.

Why did SS incorporate?

And all this is gun-related .... how, again?

Situational awareness. Since most of us here have firearms for protection, crime info is always useful.

For those that believe most of us here are just paranoid, read the police reports. Welcome to the real world.
