My new 6.5 Grendel drew first blood! Graphic Warning!

I recently acquired a new Howa Mini1500 in 6.5G.
Drew first blood on Sunday afternoon.
Now it’s the “DillrKillr”
Hit a full grown Armadillo in the right hind quarter and blew him into 4 large pieces in a spray of blood.
Load was a 27.4gr of IMR8208 under a 95gr Hornady Vmax from the 22” bbl (estimate 2800fps).
I love it!
30minutes later, I got a large white tail spike buck with a 120gr Amax over 30.4gr of LVR at estimated 2,600fps. Hit the right shoulder, exited the left torso in front of the hip. 3” gash exit wound. Not bad for a “target/match bullet…

In the second and third photos, you can see 4”x4” scaled plates blown off. It practically exploded on impact…
I was doing nuisance control at the airport under a state issued nuisance permit.

Congrats on the possum on the half shell. I took one out 5 days ago with a 5.56 AR 15 at 50 yards. Out my bathroom window. Wife jumped a foot. LOL
