My new ingot mould

My new ingot mould. Dropped off by a friend today. Should work great for ingots to go into my Lee production pot.

I think I'd brush off any loose rust but keep the deep rust. It acts like a "release agent"...

I actually had the fleeting thought of cleaning it up and using it to make corn cakes. But alass, it will be less work to use it as an ingot mould.

I just don’t think I could do it. That’s the same pan my granny made cornbread in. She usually did hoecakes on the griddle but when she actually did cornbread it was unbelievable. I could go for using the fish or corn shaped pans but not the baby loaf pan.

I've got one that makes little corncob shaped ingots. Works great in the shotmaker, and with an eye screw added they are perfect decoy weights. I love flea markets. I did take a wire wheel to some of the deeper rust and seasoned it with crisco. Ingots drop right out!
