Not new to lever actions, I have a Savage 99 .308 and a Pre 64 94 30-30, but starting to get into CAS I needed a pistol caliber lever action. After some research and discussions on a different site, I bought this Rossi 92 from a gentleman, it was his backup to his backup and he hadn't used it in years. He had slicked it up himself using his skills, and Steve's Guns parts and directions. To a CAS beginner, boy is this 92 smooth
I will completely go thru it to get familiar with the upgrades and such but it is "good to go" as is.
Below is a video bench testing its slick action...

Can't wait to try it out...

Nice little carbine. I have a 16 inch 357 that's pretty darn accurate. Bought it for the wife and smoothed it up a bit myself. When put next to a 20 inch 1894, it almost looks like a toy. But it fits her well, and she's that deadly with it too. I'd be interested to see how well your 20 inch barrel groups vs a 16; might be hard to tell the difference at 50 yards.

Nice acquisition! Picked up my Rossi Model 92 some years back at a gun show. Had not seen one for a very long time. It was used but like new in the box. Another great thing was that it was chambered for .45 Colt as I already had two single actions to go with it (and I actually added another one at the same show)!

Tried the action and it was silky smooth so there was no need for any other work to be done on it. With the 16" barrel it feels very light weight and it's quick and easy to bring it up on target.

I picked up one in blue with the 20" barrel late last year. It is fun to shoot, but I'm not staying classic cowboy with mine. I've got a mount that replaces the rear sight with a plate for a little red dot. That makes getting rounds on target during low light much easier. It is my primary chicken coop weapon right now. Even oversized Iowa racoons fall to the 44!

Very nice looking ‘92 there!

I love thumbing those cigar-butt sized cartridges into my ‘92 .45 Colt and thwacking my scaled-down steel critter silhouettes. Your .44 will be just as fun at the CAS matches. (I did a bit back in the 1990’s, my old SASS # was 13998).

Once you get a chance to shoot it let us know how it does. :)

Stay safe.
