After trading a Glock 23 and a .22 pistol I walked away with a nice Sig Sauer P220 carry.

I was worried at first it would be harder to conceal, but with the Sig "slim" grips it actually conceals better than my Glock 23 did. I can't wait to get out and see how she shoots.

It is a great gun! It carries in the appendix position better than the standard gun and shoots just as well. I really like the feel of the gun.

The only caveat with the model you have is the solid pin in the slide. I believe it's called the "firing pin stop pin" or some such. It broke after I dry fired my P220 SAO in two extended sessions. It is quick to fix with a standard roll pin. Make sure you use an AZOOM Snap-Cap with this gun (and it still may break). Your local gun store armorer should be able to replace it for you.

I have one too but with a black slide. It's a great pistol but I find it too heavy for concealed carry. 30oz unloaded is just too much weight for me to want to carry around all day. It sits by the bed with an Insight light mounted.

Congrats on the new SIG!

I love my P220R Carry SAO - To me it's a little big to CC, but it OC's just fine!

I've only carried it a couple of times. I really can't tell that much difference between carrying the Sig and my G23 fully loaded.

The SIG 220 Carry is a pistol I carry concealed comfortably all day long inside the waistband of my trousers. No, it's not a Ruger LCP, but a quality, well- designed holster will go a long way in making even a relatively heavy pistol seem a lot lighter than it actually is. Holsters like the CrossBreed and the Galco "KingTuk" are iwb holsters that accomplish carrying a bulky, heavy pistol like the SIG Model 220 comfortably and well-concealed.

I have no trouble carrying my standard P220. I put it in a modified Milt Sparks VM II on a Comp-Tac kydex reinforced belt counterbalanced with two magazines. It does not feel heavy at all since the VM II distributes the load. The rear strap has been changed with a single point rubber strap that significantly increases forward cant.

Very nice. I always liked those. Especially the SAO models.

Did you shoot the new gun yet? Some photos of the gun and targets would be nice!

I have 2 P226's (9mm and 357sig) and a Mosquito (for the wifey). I don't have a P220 (yet, shhh, don't tell the wifey). Sounds like a good deal. I like the pix, Good Luck
