My new Woods Carry Snake!

I’ve been carrying around a 2” SP101 in the high desert and mountains for the last decade. It’s been a reliable companion but I always wanted six rounds and a 3” barrel for a bit better odds with the frequent problem black bears around here.

This girl came home with me today, my first ever Colt anything. Love the trigger and lockup! Hope to shoot her this weekend with reloads. Woods ammo will be 180g Buffalo Bore hardcast.

I'll take it, bent triggerguard and all... this is starting to look like the best all-around revolver in my collection.

Nice looking piece. I haven't really paid much attention to the Colt offerings, as I'm an admitted S&W fanboy. What Smith frame size is similar to the KC? It looks small in your hand in the pic.
Looks very carry friendly in the woods or for CC.

Here's the 3" King Cobra next to a 4" Model 19 (K frame). As John Taffin would say, it's a "perfect packin' pistol."

Nice looking piece. I haven't really paid much attention to the Colt offerings, as I'm an admitted S&W fanboy. What Smith frame size is similar to the KC? It looks small in your hand in the pic.
Looks very carry friendly in the woods or for CC.

I’ve got big hands, to compare the King Cobra to a smith, she’s probably between J and K frame.

I’ll not be carrying her around town but it would certainly work.

I’m going to carry it repeatedly, even when working wild land fires. Not too worried with the stainles finish.

Very nice looking revolver! I have been eyeballing the 4” target model for a while now.
I know the trigger guard seems to have mixed reviews but I like it, I think it flows well with the gun.

Saw one under glass just yesterday. Sitting next to a Kimber. Think they were asking $870 out the door for the Colt and a little over $1K for the Kimber. Aesthetically I thought the Colt was better looking.

Took her on a shorter hike today in my SP101 holster. Packs very well! Got a Simply Rugged pancake on order as the Ruger holster isn’t a great fit.

Remember, two is one, one is none. That George Bowers holster pictured in my post #9 got to my mailbox inside a week. It's a nice little concealment rig, for sure. And his prices are excellent.
