Those 1,000fps models are not THAT quiet. Your neighbors will know, if they are out and about, and if they know what that sound is. Id does sound different than a normal gunshot, though.

There's a pretty good THONK from my Crosman 1377, too, even with just three pumps, or with just one, for that matter. Nothing near as loud as a .22LR rifle, sure, but it certainly isn't silent. It's quiet enough that I happily shoot it in the basement with no ear protection worn (just eyes). I *wish* it was silent, though, that would be handy.
