Usually, I wouldn't post a review after such a short period of owning a holster, but I am so happy with my NM #1, that I will go ahead and type one up. I ordered my Nick Matthews holster on Friday, 3/7, and finalized the deal later on that same night after some great communication and answers from Nick Matthews. On Sunday, 3/9, Nick wrote me to say my holster was complete and shipping the next day. The holster arrived on Thursday, 3/13 and I was excited to rip into the box and see the final result.
First impressions were that the holster was very well made out of quality leather with much attention to detail. The stitching was excellent, the color was rich, and the snaps were easy to operate. I put my Springfield EMP in the holster, replaced it in the ziploc bag and left it sitting for the day as I visited my father in law in the hospital. Later that night, I replaced the EMP with the Colt Defender that would normally reside in the holster, and repeatedly worked the gun in and out of the leather to break it in. The fitment was perfect for the 3" 1911. I then strapped it on and I've worn it since, with the exception of sleeping in it (which I was also tempted to try!). The holster is unbelievably comfortable. The leather strap that protects my body from the gun is the right size and does it's job. The holster rides where it should and doesn't move. The draws have become increasingly easier as the leather breaks in, and re-holstering is coming right along as well.
I would recommend Nick Matthews to anyone. The price and quality are unbeatable. Here are a few pictures, but they are rather dark, so forgive my lacking photography skills:
