consolidating and downsizing my number of guns. Sold 3 rifles and when I can find a new home for my Savage 99 in .300 Savage, it will be four gone. Going to get one big game caliber rifle, a Browning X-Bolt in 7mm Mag.

Was gonna put a Burris Signature Select 3-12x50 on it, scope that I took off one of the other rifles. Found out that I’ll probably have to get high mounts to clear the 50mm bell. Medium highs typically give me a better cheek weld.

So, since I have the cash from the other guns I can kinda get what I want within reason, that being +/- $1,000. I was thinking a Leupold VX-6 2-12x42 with Firedot and CDS. However, reviews online were far from positive.

Does anybody here have actual experience with this scope? If so, thoughts?

Is there anything else equivalent? If so, I’m not aware of it. I had a VX-R on one of the rifles I sold and it was excellent, just thought I’d get something with more zoom range and CDS

Thx

OK, so I went to Bass Pro today and looked thru both scopes. The Zeiss was really nice. I’m sure it would be more than adequate for almost everyone, and that’s a super price. For the money, it’s s great deal.

Also looked thru a $1,000 Vortex

And they are really good. But they weren’t the VX-6. Looks like I have a VX-6 in my future

I have the VX-6 2-12x42 with Firedot and CDS. It is a fantastic scope. Btw, I just went opticsplanet and eurooptic to check the price. It looks like that scope has been discontinued. You should move quickly if that's the one you want. I doubt you'd be disappointed.
