Ruger has at least one thing right with the P345, the thing eats recoil, and gives your hands the leftovers:D Dont get me wrong, my P345 is an excellent shooter, very accurate, gives me no problems at all. I got one of the later ones, without all the issues. After shooting my Ruger, I shot a friends Kimber, which has an alloy frame, and the recoil was notably harder using the same ammo. I just picked up a new Springfield loaded fullsize, and this thing is way heavier than my Ruger, yet the recoil is still more. Ruger's got a winner, and a well designed 45, except for the mag disconnect, of course:D

DISCLAIMER: I am a Sturm, Ruger (RGR) sockholder.

AGREED! Now that I am an official, AARP "Old Guy", I've enjoyed shooting many handguns, a few of which were truly weird. The 345, whether due to the grip shape or the frame's material, is a wonderfully "soft" shooter. Hornady 200gr "TAP" +P almost feels like 147gr 9mm. Of course, I could just be sort of numb after all these years. . . .

i have one as well and you are right the recoil is very soft which was a suprise to me, but the thing i like about mine the most is the fact that it is so darn accurate, i still can't believ how accurate it is. i love the single action trigger thouh the da ain't that bad. i had to send mine to ruger to get it worked on for reliability reasons, but the gun was mailed back after i had left for the desert so it is at the house waiting on me to return to give it a go. i hope they fixed it if so this will be one of the sweetest .45's that i have ever used. especially the polymer ones.
