my personal observation at 10 vs 90ish lumen LED flashlight
I was at a friends cabin with a recently purchased small LED flashlight that I keep in my jeans pocket for misc use (other one I used for several years had died). This one is a Olight T14 that runs off of on AA battery and can give you either 10 or 90ish lumen light output. Since purchase I kept it at the 90 lumen setting. In the middle of the night I needed to use the restroom and used my little light as it was pitch black. I needed to set it on the counter and I was concerned that the heat from the 90 lumens might damage the counter so I set it to 10 lumens. I was impressed at how well I could see with just 10 lumens. It definately didn't look 9 times dimmer than the 200 lumen setting. Given the primary task for this flashlight is just general odds & ends use (not the boogey man), I now keep it set on 10 lumens since that often appears to be enough and it has much longer battery life and it can be quicly changed to 200 lumens if I need it. If you've never tried your various brightness settings in the dark, I suggest you check it out. Just my two cents on something that pleasantly surprised me.
