My pet names for the "Assault Weapon"

I own 'guns'.
Several are 'rifles'
One is an 'AR-15,' another is a 'SKS.'
The first is a 'Colt Law Enforcement;' the second is a 'Norinco 20" rifle'

No need for the term assault rifle, other than to describe a specific class of rifle as said above.

I'm not big on the ebr or any other acronyms, if anyone asks I just tell em' what they are and try to educate them if they don't know anything about them.

I've refused to use the term created by the Antis since it first spewed forth.

I also won't call a semiauto Kalishnakov derived rifle an AK-47 since that is a particular selective fire firearm and is not my Saigas.

I won't call any of my Stoner design derived rifles an M-16 or an M-4 since those are particular selective fire weapons and not my Colt SP-1 or other AR rifles.

I just call them rifles instead of spreading Anti propaganda.

To me it seems ignorant to act like you don't know what an assault weapon is. The term was defined by federal law. An assault weapon is not the same as an assault rifle, and there is no reason to act confused by the terms.

This has always annoyed me too. To call a light weight, magazine fed, gas operated, shoulder fired, handheld semi-automatic rifle that was designed to kill people a "sporter" just sounds silly. I bought it for fun, yeah, but if I had a need to "assault" something (think Red Dawn fantasy land or something, I dunno) I know what I would grab. I am not saying I actually run around saying assault rifle either but in my opinion there is a WORLD of difference between an AK and a Rem700.

I am not trying to be difficult, I just don't see the point in lying to ourselves or playing dumb.

I call my AK Red and I am sorry if I sound like an idiot.

The second amendment was put in place for one main reason, and that was so the people would have a means to ASSAULT tyrants and dictators.
