Took it to the range last Wednesday and put 50 rounds through it. The initial factory sight setting was quite a bit off, 10" low and about 12" right. I don't like the sights as they are only adjustable using an allen wrench and your fingers to slide them what ever way needed. The graduation marks for windage and elevation are hard to see. The front post and the rear ghost ring are too large for precision shooting, but this carbine isn't meant to be a precision gun anyway and the sights are adequate for personal defense. My problem is 70 year old eyes trying to center the very thick front sight on a bullseye. The front sight covers a lot of space on a target. It will have a red dot on it the next time I take it to the range. Other than the sights I have a very good impression of the carbine.
Fit is good, ergonomics are very good and for this type of gun the trigger is surprisingly light and breaks clean. It balances well and the stock fits me like it should. If I was 6' or taller the length of pull might be a little too short. I changed out the Ruger magazine well and installed the included Glock mag well as I have a few Glock magazines. The ammo fed well and I had no stoppages or any other feed problems. I was a little concerned with the take down aspect but the way it is built the barrel fits quite snugly in the action when the adjustment nut is tightened. With the sights on the barrel there shouldn't be any change to the sight zero when you remove and install the barrel. Overall I'm very satisfied with the carbine, Ruger did a good job on it.
