My revolver to 1911 ratio was getting out of hand.

Been on a revolver kick the last couple of years, and the 1911s were looking paltry in comparison. So I took the plunge on this bit of machinery today:

Dan Wesson Valor V-Bob in .45ACP. It's probably going to be my last new 1911, so I figured I'd do it up right. Or right enough without doing the whole custom thing, anyway. Hoo-whee, is this thing tight.

Ha! I said the same exact thing when I acquired a Dan Wesson Guardian in .45 ACP - this was going to be my last 1911 (new or otherwise), and I was going to do it right with a DW semi-custom 1911. Annnnd ... now I'm looking at a picking up a DW Valor Commander. Beautiful pistol. But wait! I also remembered that I never added a 9mm 1911 to the stable. Gotta get one of those too ...

It never ends!

Niiiice!

I have so many "wants" in my inbasket I have no idea where to start...a nice 1911 in 9mm and maybe a Coonan .357 Auto is certainly in there... But those DW .45's are really nice, too.

Decisions...decisions....

OP has superb taste. Possibly my favorite current production 1911, pretty, but made to be carried and fired a lot.

Naw, never happen. You will walk into the store and there will be one on sale, for a price so low that you can't believe it, and that becomes your new last 1911.

I’ve quit using “my last...(____)” as a prefix to firearm purchases. It just makes me look like an idiot.

Yea, no such thing for folks like us, there will be another one, sooner or later.

I understand what y'all are saying, as I've certainly experienced the "No more! Except maybe this..." thing a few times. But my hands and wrists seem to be aging for some reason, and I simply can't shoot as much as I used to be able to. Ten years ago, I could cheerfully burn through 500 rounds of 45 in a day. Now I suffer for a few days if I do 200. So, yeah, it's likely my last 1911, and I think the snubnose .357s are gonna have to go before long, much as I hate the idea of that. Even .38s out of a K frame get to me. Lucky for me, I have some .32 S&W Long revolvers to fall back on.
