Just picked up this Ruger Single 6 New Model with .22LR and .22 Mag cylinders. What I like about it is the .22LR cylinder holds 8 rounds instead of 6. Looks pretty good next to Big Brother :)

Ammo in Los Angeles is no problem. Actually I'm heading to my gun shop to pick up 1000 LR right now before I go to the range

Dang! must be nice.

Last gun show i went to some guy had 3 Remington "Bucket O bullets" and he wanted $300. for each one!

I about told him he should be ashamed of himself but i kept to myself.

Yeah. I hear you. It's still expensive here though. I just paid 30 bucks for 500. I'm lucky though. I shoot more black powder than cartridge guns anyway. Sometimes it's hard to get those supplies too though.
I have to drive about 20 miles to get my .457 balls, and I've never even SEEN a #10 percussion cap in my life LOL

Now I'm looking for a 1911 in blue or stainless. Maybe even a .22 version of the 1911 since my wife likes to plink too.
If you know anyone wanting to let one go at a reasonable price have them PM me please

The .22 LR cylinder is a 8-shot and the Mag cylinder is a 6-shot. Never seen that before. Seems to me one of those cylinders would be out-of-time. Ruger must of found a way to make it work. Did that Mag cylinder come with the gun? I'm asking because it's stainless and the rest of the gun and the .22 LR cylinder are blue - also something I've never seen Ruger do with a standard product.

Learn something new everyday.

If you know, is this a common practice at Ruger now? I remember looking at the new 8-shot Single Sixes when they first came out a few years back. The 8-shots were not being sold with a factory Mag cylinder. Always assumed it was due a timing issue.

Now my mind is blown.

My poor old SS has been pining away with 8-shot envy. Now I'm thinking about sending it back to Ruger for a 8-shot cylinder. Then I'd have three: a 6 & 8-shot LR, and a 6-shot Mag.

I've got an H&R 622, but my friend gave me a 9 round cylinder (he's got him a couple 922's and had a spare cylinder) and it just dropped in like it was made for it! I'm considering having the 6 round cylinder reamed to .22 magnum, that way I can use the 9 round cylinder for .22LR's. ;)
