A HOLDUP AT A BAR IN PAHRUMP WEDNESDAY MORNING marked just the second armed robbery in Nye County this year, and Sheriff Tony DeMeo has a theory about what has kept that number so low.

"One reason why is I encourage everyone to carry a gun out here," DeMeo said, only half-joking. "I have a very strong Second Amendment policy. You take your chances (committing a crime) in Nye County."

This was my town of residence for the last 4-5 years. I moved the first of the year, but still own the house in Pahrump as well as several pieces of property.
When I approached the sheriff to sign off a form 4 for a machine gun, what do you think he said ?
Do you think I was worried about being "made" while carrying concealed ?
Do you think I was worried about open carry ?
This thread discusses where I live now: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=157396

As a side note, we like Nevada just the way it is. We don't need any more residents of the people's paradise moving here and ruining a good thing.

The California line marks the boundry of Pahrump on the west side of town.
And the Sheriff retired there from New Jersey :what:

The last sheriff may have been even better. When I was having him sign off for me to buy a machine gun, he spent five minutes telling me how much fun it was going to be. :D

Holy crap, that man is welcome in my county any day.

*faint cheering sound from the founding fathers*

I hate you. The local sheriff doesnt sign off anything lol incorporation.

Wait a sec--Pahrump? Somebody was dumb enough to try strongarm robbery in the hometown of FrontSight?

Dude's lucky to still be drawing a breath. I'd have laughed my tail off if he'd tried something stupid against a group of FrontSight instructors out for some R&R after work.

Bah, hairy-chested, elf-boot-wearing Westerners [444, I know you're from Ohio, just having fun--on the Internet, how dare I] who they bury in matchboxes, as we say here, all hat and belt buckle, no apple orchard! :neener:

Yes, but is your Sheriff an instructor at Gunsite like ours? :neener: www.kencampbellforsheriff.com

(Good to hear, 444. Maybe clone him and insert him into office across the nation?)
