Finally got all the things I needed for my hunting rifle.
Howa 1500 .308 caliber
Nikon Buckmaster 3-9x40
Game Reaper One Piece Scope Mount
Butler Creek Flip Caps
Quake Claw Sling
Pics are before I added the sling and scope caps.

I have not been able to get to the range yet, but I did buy a few snap caps to check out the trigger and action. The trigger seems to have no slop[obviously not the technical term]. When I place slight pressure on the trigger it surprises me when it goes off, much like my grandfathers model 336.

Nice setup. Those Game Reaper mounts are very popular with shooters here in NC. They make them in Sanford, NC.

I have the same rifle

I have the same rifle except my optics are not as good as yours. I've got a Prostaff 3x9x40 with the normal two piece ring setup. Regardless, it'll shoot a .75" group at 100yds with handloads. These are great rifles at a great price.

Wanted to go to the gun club today and sight her in. Unfortunately the weather is not cooperating. Supposed to rain all day. So sad.

I have the Weatherby Vanguard (Howa 1500) Varmint in .308, game reaper mount and a Mueller scope. I did put a Timney trigger in mine. It is a sweet shooter and should serve you well.
