Hello again, THR!

Now that everything has settle down a bit on my end of things in the War on Terrorism, I might be around a bit more. LOL.

Well, the other day we were out shopping, and my wife runs across a Marlin Model 60 .22 rifle. Stock is a bit dinged up, a little finish weark and in need of a really good cleaning (I hate having a dirty weapon around the house......:D ), but overall in very good shape. Price was a whopping $65! I had purchased a Savage .22 bolt action a while back, she didn't like it very much, and she has been looking around for a semi-auto .22. This one holds something like 16 or 18 rounds or so in the tubular mag underneath the barrel, whereas my Savage only (!) holds ten in the bananna clip. Trigger seems a little better than the one on my Savage.

Well, it's a good thing after all. Who can argue with his wife when she wants a new gun ("new", in this case, as in "new to me because I haven't owned it yet"- LOL), instead of yet another pair of shoes she will only wear once-:p (sorry, babe.....LOL!). Besides it's fair- I recently got a RIA .45!

I bought one of those in college. It was used and abused. The stock had been broken off at the hand grip and was dowled/glued/wood doughed back together. It had abroken recoil buffer as sell but that thing was a tack driver. Loved that gun.

I like mine! It's hard to beat a good little semi-auto .22 rifle!

Congrats No-Man.
I've owned one for a couple years now. I recently picked up a 4X32 Nikon for it. I've had it to the range once since mounting the scope and only put one kind of ammo through it (Federal). The marlin 60 managed a few 1.5" five shot groups at 50 yards. I'll be trying several different brands of ammo and hours of practice in the comming weeks to see if an improvement can be made. I'm sure you'll both enjoy the Marlin.

Kamicosmos,
Does your 60 give you a problem with the Winchester XPert ammo?
Compared to any other .22LR round the Xpert is considerably shorter. Because of this the Xpert ammo would feed at an angle that would shave off part of the round. I took the stock off to find a bunch of lead shavings that looked like nail clippings. I also had 'em jamming up about every 5 rounds. Cabelas had them on sale for $7 for 500. I bought two boxes and gave most of them away.

Rupestris.

hey, me too.

Friday at the gunshop I spied a barely used Model 60 in the corner for 80 bucks...looks like its a few years old, but the original stickers are still on it from the factory.

Shot only a few dozen rounds through it so far, but seems pretty accurate. Glad I bought it.
