I was woundering what kind of accuracy owners & shooters of the N.A.A. revolvers like the B.W. & the Earl in .22 mag. were getting. Especially with the .45gr. bullets & the .50 gr. S.G.B.s? I am talking about guns with a 2" or longer barrel. Thanks & happy holidays! :)

I only ever shot 20 or so .22Mag from my own Earl. But at the time the groups were as good as I was getting with the .22LR. Just printed about 3 inches low at 10'ish yards. But that's consistent with the faster bullets.

Since that time I've gotten to where I can hold the gun and pull the trigger well enough that well aimed groups are about 5 to 6 inches at 20 yards. MOST of the issue is that the gun is just plain hard to hold for truly good target shooting. But then it's just not that sort of gun, is it.....

To signify how much the size affects my shooting I can manage 3 to 3.5 inch groups at the same 20 yards fairly regularly with my other normal size guns when I'm in good form and the eyes are cooperating.

So I'd expect that if I were shooting the Mag rounds that this would be about the same but the group would be about 6 to 8 inches low. Again due to the speed of the Mags and the fact that the sights are set up for the slower .22LR rounds.

If you only intend on shooting the .22Mag pretty much exclusively you could shorten the front sight to bring the POI up to the POA. But then you'd want to use a very definite 6 o'clock hold on the targets when shooting with .22LR to make up for the higher printing of that ammo.

Long story short, you will need lots of practice if you plan on shooting them at 50 or 100 yards. 3-7 are where these little guns really shine.

No problem hitting one-handed groups of 8" or better at 7 yards with my two inch barrel Black Widow and one inch barrel Pug (both .22 magnum - 40gr bullets). More than good enough for the intended purpose as far as I'm concerned.

I switched grips on the Earl & put the the BW grips on it. I put the grips off the Earl on the BW. With the bigger grips on the Earl, I can shoot into 5" at 10 yards. The smaller grips on the BW seem to work fine but groups are about 2"bigger. What I really want to know do any shooters find a difference between the accuracy of the heavy (45-50gr.) loads &the lighter loads (30-40gr.) loads?
