Sport Pistol
Meters great, better than HP38 not quite as good as AA#2 but close.
I've found Sport Pistol meters very well in the Hornady LNL powder measure. I received my PV order, so I loaded up some Win 244. I had thought the literature said it was a ball powder, but, it's a flattened ball powder. It meters well, on par with WSF. Here's some initial results - I'll only post those that are near what I'd call a competition load.

All test loads were with .FC. headstamp brass, COL was 1.120, CCI 500, P226 test gun, CE chrono at 5 yards.

124 gn RMR FP MW, 4.1 gn 244: Sample; 8, Avg 1030, ES 31, SD 10
1034 1033 1049 1018 1038 1020 1025 1024

147 gn RMR FP MW, 3.4 gn 244: Sample: 9, Avg 866, ES 26, SD 8
853 872 874 879 867 859 860 871 864

145 gn BB RN .357, 3.2 gn 244: Sample; 9, Avg 881, ES 28, SD 9
869 892 882 870 884 882 897 884 873

Recoil, smoke and case cleanliness was on par with WSF. I plan to load up a hundred more of each to test accuracy a bit more. The initial 5 yard accuracy looked very promising.

Thanks for the results Lorpaxman, I appreciate it.
I agree W244 meters about the same for me as WSF.
Sport Pistol meters better.
Hope to be able to test this weekend.
4.1gr of W244 with a 124 looks to be about what I am looking for.

I do load Full Power loads but would use something slower than W244 or Sport Pistol for those.

Ok some results,
The arrows seemed fine, the indian has had better days.
(need to retest the ones that make PF)
I missed the target PF on the W244 loads loaded 3,7 and 4grs with the RMR 124 MPR JHP @ 1.08. I felt fairly sure 4.0gr would get me there but it didn't. (MAX with a different 124 is 4.1 gr) so I need to bump it up .1 and see.
My 9mm 1911 barrel is getting to be high mileage (20-25K on it, maybe more loose track)so it maybe a little loose giving lower vels
All S+B SP, mixed range brass, RMR 124 MPR [email protected]
5" 9mm 1911
All charges as thrown after settin measure (Lee auto drum)
Temp about 95 ish

N330 and Silhouette feel about the same to me as WSF, W244 and Sport Pistol felel maybe a little snappier. (subjective of course)

Does not make PF!, I would have guessed 4.0gr would have done it based on Hodgdons numbers
MAX with a different 124 is 4.1.
As a side note my W572 vels were lower than Hodgdons listed
while my numbers with HP38/WSF for example are quite close

As I mentioned before the Indian has had better days,
Plastic table broke so groups shot standing no rest, 3 groups of 5 rounds for each load these are the best.

4.0 W244.jpg 4.2Sport Pistol.jpg
4.6 N330.jpg

And two more
4.4 WSF is my current favorite load
4.4 WSF.jpg 5.2Silhouette.jpg

I didn't do the Silhouette load justice, pulled a couple.

(targets printed on paper used on one side, some look a little funny)

9mm 125s @ around 1030-1050 ... also ... for the .380 and .45

Main use would be 9mm with 125s @ about 130 PF.
During the 90s, I used WSF for loading major PF loads and it is one of few powders that is accurate at mid-range loads too (BE-86 being the other). I think you are going to have hard time finding a more accurate powder as difference in accuracy may be beyond what you and I could shoot with our hands/eyes. ;)

But at 130 PF, faster burning powders like Titegroup, N320, Target, Ba 9.5, Sport Pistol, W231/HP-38 may produce more efficient powder burn.

Target has produced accurate groups but it won't make PF with 124/125 gr bullet. For me, Titegroup has produced more accurate loads than W231/HP-38 (which is temperature sensitive) and Titegroup will make PF but it is not on your list of powders. BTW, WSF is reverse temperature sensitive - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...s-and-discussions.778197/page-7#post-10117881

And Sport Pistol (which is less temperature sensitive and cleaner burning than N320) produced smaller 25 yard shot group (see circled group) than Promo, Target, Ba 9.5, W231/HP-38 - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/new-alliant-sport-pistol.816514/page-5#post-10702450

I've found Sport Pistol meters very well in the Hornady LNL powder measure.
Sport Pistol meters really well through my Auto Drum.
This is no surprise as Sport Pistol granules are very consistent (Think thinly sliced N320) and smaller than W231/HP-38 to meter with less than .05 gr variance for me when W231/HP-38 meters with .1 gr variance - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/lee-proauto-disk-mods.828480/#post-10682624

Thanks,
Like I mentioned before I am not unhappy with WSF it shoots as good as I can shoot, just thought I might try something new for the fun of it.
The way I was shooting yesterday I was lucky to get any decent groups, severe case of CHS. (can't hit Stuff)
Of course if I am not shooting well I start thinking about what I am doing and trying to "correct" stuff and that usually messes me all up. (I have the same issue with my golf game:))
The ones I posted were the good ones.....

Need to test in my Sig or XD and see what velocity numbers I get.
The Sport Pistol/N330/Silhouette #s were about what I expected.
