Hy folks
where I live we do not have so many powder options.
Ive found Vihta N330 that should have a faster burn rate than N340 and a slower than N320.
Vihtavouri tells nothing about .357 reliads for N330 and only shows 357 cowboy action.
Problem is I do need over 1200 fps for competition.
Any comments or experiences?

What gun and barrel length?
VV N-330 maybe a poor choice for your application, I would hold out in hopes of finding a more appropriate powder.

7.0 Grs of N330 and an X-Treme 158 Gr SWC loaded at 1.488 OAL gave just under 1100 FPS from a 4 5/8" Blackhawk. It was fairly position sensitive and wasn't anything spectacular, so I quit there. It can work though. It gave similar velocity with a 110 Gr JHP with the same charge.

This load appeared safe in my gun with my load technique. Use at your own risk.

The bullet will be round nose 158 lead.
8 inch barrel Dan Wesson.
But it is good to know you were at 7 gn N330. I am at 5.7 gn 1066 fps

I went from 6.7 Grs to 7.0 Grs N330, and the velocity didn't really change at all, which told me I needed to stop. Any time you stop gaining reasonable velocity with a good increase in powder you are at the top, maybe over.

Tanks for the replies. Comments were really usefull. With 7 gn N330 with an 8 inch DW barrel 1240 fps. 6.7gn 1200fps. There are no overpreassure signs on primers or brass.

THIS ARE NOT OFFICIAL OR RECOMENDED LOADS. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
