I find it deplorable that your organization deemed it necessary to speak on HB 1311 as it makes it's way to the North Carolina Governor. The obvious anti-gun rhetoric from your organization was well received by law-abiding citizens who to this day still meet with discrimination when all they want is another layer of security when protecting their families. I'm glad Law Enforcement has the ability to protect themselves 24/7 in every state now (Please remember Law Abiding VOTERS gave you this right), but for you to advocate AGAINST that right for other humans to protect themselves, their spouse, and children is unconscionable on your part.
I can tell you tonight, in reading many of the larger Second Amendment sites, many people are simply sick and tired of hearing Liberal Organizations like yours spout of at the mouth without thinking. And, I hope the citizens in this country meet that disdain by cutting funding for programs you so desperately need.
It is a well known fact that increased funding for Domestic Violence programs like shelters, increased restraining order powers, education, etc.. has done NOTHING to curb Domestic Homicide and nobody seems to have an answer. The Advocacy groups certainly cannot protect victims, nor can the police be at every Domestic Situation at the INSTANT it takes to murder someone. But, in knowing this, YOU STILL want to deny the basic human right to life and self-preservation for the people who need it the most? Your organization did yourself no favor in playing politics with HB 1311 (NC), and I know organizations like mine will soon not let it's member base forget this at election time, when Sheriff Departments across this country need funding, or when you seek donations. Please remember, Gun Owners are THE single most vocal vote in America, and we simply CANNOT let this comment pass. This should be a wake up call to everyone that Americans have had it with Legislators, Anti-Gun groups, and organizations like the National Sheriffs Association who seek to take LAW-ABIDING citizen's constitutional right to keep and bear arms away while criminals (like domestic abusers) continue to kill at will DESPITE everything we have done to stop it.
