I'd be making a purchase today if only I could decide which stock I want! Every time there's a new option, I have to do all my research so I don't end up wishing I got something else.

To many choices!

So, which buttstock do you prefer and why?
How much longer is the NATO than the Warsaw?

What are the advantages of each?

Also, if there is any other info I don't know of, tell me about that too.

Thanks!

I'm 6'0'' with longish arms, but I definitely prefer the Warsaw-length stock. I shoot with a squared-off stance, not the traditional bladed stance. The best thing to do is to try both and see what you like better.

Personally, I went with a Magpul CTR and CAA aluminum tube (although in retrospect, I should have just went with the Vltor tube, but that's a whole 'nother thread). I like the adjustability and larger buttplate surface of the CTR.

Warsaw.

I'm 5'10" 200lbs and the shorter length suits me better. Much better fit. Of course I prefer youth stocks on my shotguns too. You just have to remember that shooting an AK you aren't going to be using a bladed rifleman stance but a square boxing stance. I actually prefer the wire side folding stocks on my AK's. Polish, East German, Romanian or Hungarian (AMD-65) I like them all. The Polish is the nicest and the Rommy is the cheapest. Once you start adding layers of gear/clothing the shorter stock really shines. You won't feel like you are "reaching" for the gun.

Can you add a rubber buttplate to increase the length of the Warsaw if one found it too short?

Is the Warsaw the standard AK length?

Ive handled the original Bulgarian stock and its shorter . I d go for the original length if i have to choose.

I have the nato lenght and like it, but I'm taller than 6'.

I like the suggestion above about the extension on the warsaw stock.....

This has less to do with size and more to do with stance. If you shoot squared off, the shorter stock is nicer. If you use a bladed stance, the longer stock is going to be handier.

The shorter stock is the original length. The NATO length stock is 1.25" longer than the Warsaw length. Here is a good side by side.

Edit: I prefer the Warsaw.

I also prefer the shorter length, and am 6'5" -- but like Bartholomew Roberts said, it's about stance and shooting style as well as frame/build.

I'm 5'9" but prefer the Nato length. I'm actually a big fan of the Tapco T6 stock because of the adjustability. Most AK stocks don't fit me well, gun sits too low, poor cheek weld, the Tapco (or CAA, or Magpul or Vltor, etc...) fits me better.
