I have french MAB pistol, marked "Pistolet Automatique cal 7.65 MAB Brevete Modele D" on the left side of the slide. It appears to have very tiny Nazi markings on the barrel (as viewed by the ejection port) and on the right side of the frame. The marking on the barrel looks like a very tiny Fokker Tri-Plane with what could be (it is very tiny) swastika in a circle underneath the tiny tri-plane. On the right side of the frame, next to the serial number, there is the same type of symbol, again, looking like a head-on view of a very tiny Fokker Tri-Plane, with a very tiny swastika in a circle underneath the tiny tri-plane; and, underneath that - on the frame markings only - there are the really small markings "WaA254" or maybe "WaA251".

Did the Nazi's appropriate the French MAB manufacturing during WWII and put these markings on these pistols? Do these look like legit Nazi markings? (Pics attached) Value on a gun like this? Any info appreciated.

Ron L here

Wile I'm no Expert, I have owned a few different rifles and Pistols with nazi markings on them! Yours (he markings) seem real and look legit. You have to remember the nazi's seized many factorys in France as well as Belgium and other countries (Like Poland) and used thier machinery to make firearms that were issued and used by german troops! The Germans liked 32 acp, it was what many a Wather PP and PPK was chambered in, as well as so many other pistols they had made in other countries! Enjoy your firearm and know it's a piece of History! I does add a bit to the colector value but mab pistols don't carry a lot of valaue anyhow and if you trea it right, go ahead and shoot it and clean it well, have fun, if your carefull it will stand up to normal shooting!

Manufacture D'armes De Bayone " MAB ", The factory was under German control from 1940 to 1944. You have a pistol accepted for the Wehrmach for use as a secondary non standard issue. Used by personnel such as Military police, cooks, bakers and candle stick makers in occupied countries but as a rule not issued to combat units. Your Tri Plane is in fact a stylized Eagle, some times called a stick eagle :)Tri plane, chuckle, I haven't heard that one before, Not laughting at you msmph, just smiling:) It does increase the value by 15 to 20 per cent.
