NC gun center overwhelmed after offering free gun training for teachers

CARY, N.C. — Some teachers in North Carolina are signing up for classes to carry concealed guns.

It comes in the wake of the mass school shooting in Newtown, Conn.

A combat center in Cary started offering free gun training courses after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary.

The gun center said so many teachers are signing up that there’s now a waiting list.

“Ever since we posted that we’re offering free classes for teachers, we’ve been absolutely crushed, inundated. Teachers want to learn about firearms,” said Molotov Mitchell of Triangle Krav Maga.

Some gun rights activists have been lobbying North Carolina lawmakers to allow teachers with concealed carry permits to be armed on campus.

There’s a similar bill proposed in South Carolin

Huh, and here everyone says the NRA is 'forcing teachers to carry guns'

Not only is no one forcing anyone to do anything, they sure as heck seem to want to!

Correia had it right. The solution is already available and cheap. Just let the people who have the interest and the will get the training, and then stop hampering them; everyone benefits.

Simple, really.

A friend of mine and a former member of one of those elite military units, got together with a bunch of his buddies with similar backgrounds and put together a course on how an average Joe or Jane could deal better deal with a situation such as CT. Firearms were a part of it, but he rattled off a dozen other things an average person could be trained to do which may have altered the outcome.

They offered to provide free training to our school teachers. Haven't heard if the school board is going to allow it to happen yet.

Many school teachers I have spoken with are on board with the idea of being trained and armed.

Our educational foundation has launched a program to provide firearm training to teachers free of charge.

If you are a teacher or school official, CLICK HERE to complete a questionnaire for consideration.

All information will be kept strictly confidential.

The first class will accept 24 teachers for a comprehensive 3-day training class. All major expenses will be covered, including tuition, ammunition, and lodging (which are expected to total approximately $1,000 per teacher).

I was asked earlier today by a not-so-strong RKBA person "How can we secure our schools against this kind of tragedy?"

My reply: "ask a gentleman named Benjamin Netanyahou how the State of Isreal secures schools."
