Would be interested in meeting fellow THR members for Longgun or Hand shoot. Cabin Fever is setting in, and bullets are staking up from all the reloading. Just wondering if there are members around our neck of the woods that would be interested in getting together for a day of shooting, and getting the snowflake dust out of the tubes and to show off their babies :D

there are a few outdoor ranges around if wanting to pay for the services. But there is more than enough public land around with sand and gravel pits to set up an one day range out in the boonies.

If anyone would be interested, give a shoutback here and we will see if a central local can be agreed to. If anyone wants to know, I live in the area of the great Woodtick Music Festival (giv'er a Google).

sorry, forgot to mention that part , but would like to get alittle primer popping session together after the ground thaws and before the skeeters (RCAF) are out. Late april, early may? figured to start inquiring now see what kinda response there would be? was looking for public ranges around the area, one in cyrstal falls, other than that, some public land back in the stickers where the is a big old sand pit on the end of cty rd in meyers twnsp.

There is a range at the sportsman club on the calumet mine rd in northern dickinson cty, but gotta be a member there, and I can't remeber the last time i was there. Don't even know if it was kept up.

If you don't mind traveling some there's a range outside Baraga that's often available in the spring.
Berms there are from 50 to 400 yards. Depending on who is involved there might be steel targets available.

i don't mind travel baraga, got a place to stay there with family. got relatives on the res. is that a public range or private?

Yooper get together.

I just joined the group. I'm in Kingsford. Niagara has a range (outdoor), only costs $5 to join for the year. Of course this means we can only use for what? 5 months. I know there would a group would want to show up. I agree that after snow melt is the time to do it.

On a side note, how would you guys feel about an indoor range?

Stay warm:)

welcome to da high road there freeindaup, i am 25 miles from you, i knew there was a range around niagra somewhere, is that on back county going past sneiders junk yd? and only 5 bucks a yr? hmmmmmm maybe the ticket. just wonder if WI allows high capacity mags? i got no auto's, but just need to make sure i don't bring nothing illegal into wi.

staying within the state would be better. still have not checked about hicap mags in wi, expecially since that hunter shooting a few yrs and the shooting on the border this past summer. I got a freind who is a member of the sportsman club on the calumet mine rd. will see if there range is and running. If not, there is plenty of state land to cut loose on.

Shoot

I'm frequently up in the Cedar River area, about half way in between Menominee and Escanaba. I would be up for some shooting with fellow members.

i got no auto's, but just need to make sure i don't bring nothing illegal into wi.

Other than the stupid waiting period for handguns and our idiot governor vetoing the concealed carry bills Wisconsin is a pretty good place to live as a gun nut.

Only problem is, you live about two and a half hours away. I usually go shooting at the range in Shiocton, WI. As soon as it gets above freezing a group of us will be headed out there to get some range time in.

metalman52, i be menominee county as well. when your up this way come spring time, that would be the time i would like to shoot. Got a few different reloads to test out. Plus in the process of converting mg13 mags for the hakim, that should be fun to test out when the snow is gone. :D

tmpick, if ya feel like driving north, more than welcome, and acp, i am definetly staying in MI. just got find a good mutual place for a decent shoot.

My daughter is a Yooper. I was a GI stationed at KI Sawyer AFB in the UP before it was shut down. That was around 1993 or so.
When her sisters used to call her a Yooper she would cry.
I retired from the Air Force and I've been working and living in Oklahoma as a civilian aircraft mechanic for a DOD contractor on an Air Force base since I left there.
I plan on taking my now 17 year old daughter back there some day.

ja der den, yoo betcha. i'm a cheesehead, and my bride's a yooper, but if you really love to shoot, move to arizona like we did. yoo can schtill cheer fer da packers down here, doncha know

I plan to put together a spring shoot at the range outside Baraga.
Don't know just when yet.
Depends on weather to a degree, and the club's schedule.
You folks could stop by.

Sounds like a plan

Please post when it gets closer (right now, we may be lucky to hit April). We used to live up that way so there plenty of people to visit. Who knows, may be able to get a couple to come out to plink around.
