When processing some 22-250 brass this weekend, using an RCBS neck sizing die, I began to wonder if I was wasting my time with lubing the cases. Someone tell me I'm correct and that lubing the case body when only neck sizing is a total waste of calories...

personally, i use imperial dry neck lube when neck sizing only. no fuss, no muss. EASY. yes, lubing anything other than the neck is a waste of time, enrgy, and money.

Yep,ur wasting time and lube doing the whole case.even tho the case enters the die body,it's not being sized/gripped IF your die is a dedicated ns die,as you indicate that it is.
some folks try to ns by not running an fl die all the way down.I'd lube for sure in that case,'just in case.'

No lube is necessary when neck sizing only. I've never used lube when neck sizing.

If for some reason your dies are a little tight or slightly sticking give the necks a spray of "One Shot" since there's no need to clean that off after use.

No point in lubing what don't touch the die. ??
