Hello all, new guy on board here. I found this site looking for load data for .429 200gr FP that I recently acquired. I am impressed with the format and what I have read on here. Lots of knowledgeable people helping others and chiming in with a great attitude. I have been reloading/hand loading for about 30 years now and very recently started casting. I ended up with a box of 500 High Tech cast lead .429 200gr FP and can't find much data at all for loading them in .44mag or .44spl. They will be run through either a Winchester rifle or a Henry rifle. Should I just melt them down and cast 240gr SWC out of them or is there a decent load to make use of them as they are?
Thanks in advance and thanks for having me.

A pic of the bullet will help. What powders you have also. Great bullet weight in .44 special

Thanks for the advice. I'll load up a few today and see how they shoot.
Here is a pic. As far as the pistol powders I use, mostly H110, Unique and 2400. By what I have read on the forum Titegroup and Bullseye are on my list to try. I'll probably come home with some WSF and VV n-340 to play with also if I can find it.

I’ve shot pounds and pounds of 200 gr powdercoated .429 RNFP over 7.5 gr Unique in .44 Spl and 8.5 gr Unique in .44 Mag cases for fun.

Light recoil and easy on the gun/shooter.... especially beginners/ newer shooters who are shooting their first big-bore.

10.0 gr Unique in a Mag case pushes them about as fast as I want to go to avoid leading. (You could go faster with a touch more powder but I stop there.) Again, recoil is up there a bit but not abusive at all.

Stay safe.

Welcome aboard. For rifle I prefer slower powders like 2400 and W296. My Ruger M77/44 likes 18 gr. of 2400 under a 200gr. LFN for a nice, accurate, mild .44 Magnum load. Hits real good out to 100 yards with only a little hold-over necessary. Same bullet I use with .44 Spl and .44-40 WCF by the way. 200 gr. is the generic "thump 'em" bullet for anything .44 caliber.

Same bullet over 10 gr. of Unique is a good hot load for both rifles and handguns. I don't recommend going over 10 grains and highly recommend working up to it slowly, with 9 gr. as a starting load.

Hope this helps.
