+1 on the 45c, awesome pistol. better than everything else mentioned imo but to each his own. I was also gonna suggest the H&K P2000. Both worth a look for sure

I would also cast my vote for HK, though I have a USPc in .40 which has been amazing, but the HK45c is a great gun, very easy to handle and shoot. But of those you mentioned, sig makes a very fine gun in the p229...but i'd still take the HK first.
