Hey peoples! A friend just depolyed, and is looking to get some extra equipment. Specifically, the 200 rd ammo pouches (I THINK they're essentially canvas magazines), and an assualt sling for his SAW. Can anybody give some advice on where to find some good quality at a reasonable price?

From my recollections (8 years in the Infantry and counting) the canvas ammo bags that attach to the bottom of the weapon hold 100 rounds. Grunts sometimes call them 'nutsacks.'
The standard ammo container for the SAW is a 200 rounds plastic box that clips to the underside of the weapon. It holds belted ammunition and is somewhat large. Just looking at it, I don't think a 200 round canvas one would work well, but I could be wrong.
The 100 rounders were always hard to get, but they do exist within the Army supply system, or so I'm told.
