Need good C&R stores near SHOT @ VEGAS, NV

I'm going to SHOT for the first time with EAI =)

I'm bringing my C&R. As a CA resident, my C&R is largely neutered.. but when I'm outside CA, it becomes normal again. I can also cash & carry any C&R guns including handguns while outside CA (although I have to register them when I get back).

So... please direct me to the nearest place where I can leave all my savings. I don't gamble, so this is the only way for me to burn up all my hard earned money.

I want to get CZ82s, Nagant pistols, and TT33s in particular. Probably two of each.

Federal Firearms Licenses are all about interstate commerce, so it hardly matters that an FFL-03 is “neutered” in California. It’s the private sales that have been mostly banned in our fair state.

It does matter, unfortunately. In CA, one cannot get handguns mailed directly to your house with an 03 FFL. Rifles in AW configurations are also banned.

However, CA residents can buy handguns (C&R) cash & carry outside CA, then carry back into CA. Once you are back in you have 10 days to register it ($19 per gun)

That’s what most people seem to think, and while it’s true for “assault weapons,” I remain unconvinced on the C&R handgun question. I’ve scoured the California Penal Code unsuccessfully for a prohibition on buying eligible firearms, and no one has ever been able to point me to the the appropriate clause where this alleged prohibition resides.

The implications are rather comical. As a licensed collector, I may take delivery of a C&R handgun in another state, and I may then ship it home to myself if so desired, but I may not have it shipped directly to me? That makes no sense.

What is definitely “illegal” in California is selling a handgun without the assistance of a licensed dealer, save for a few very narrow exceptions.

That’s unfortunately true.

Regrettably, I don’t know any good C&R sources in Las Vegas outside of the shows themselves. If I were you, I would look into finding an FFL in the area willing to serve as my proxy. I have an out-of-state address myself, though it’s a moot point now that my FFL has expired.

I do still have an old Colt waiting for me at least.

A stated above, Masters would be a good choice. The other shop that comes to mind offhand would be these guys- ACCURACY GUN SHOP INC

Those 2 are probably your best bet on C&R stuff. Most of the other shops are primarily new guns.

It is almost impossible to find guns over 50 years old in Vegas, but I'd check out Bargain Pawn in North Las Vegas. My buddy Glen always has a bunch of weird stuff sitting collecting dust!
