Well I'm looking to find a cheap bow for hunting this upcoming season. I don't have a lot of money so price is key. I would really like a compound bow and have around 3-4 hundred bucks to spend. I know that quality and price go hand in hand but I do want one that will last. This will be my first bow, and I have no previous experience.

So what is it you are looking to hunt? A good used bow would be in that price range. Most of your quality bows are between $450-$800 dollars just for the bare bow. Then you have sites, rest, case of some sort, arrows, broad-heads, release aid if you choose to shoot with a release (which I highly recommend for compound). It's VERY easy to get in upwards of $1100 into a bow quickly.

Look at PSE. They make a decent compound bow under $400. I have ine of their recurves. It isn't the fanciest, but it's all wood and shoots well. Their compounds shoot pretty well too. I've spent a good bit of time with some of their models.

You might try your local Archery pro shop as second hand bows are often available.
Plus the shop will steer you in the right direction to boot.
