The 1927 A5 is a shorter version of the A1 it has a 13" barrel and no stock, only a pistol grip.

Is this considered as an AOW? The A5 was only made up to 1994 so it is a pre ban gun, but the short barrel worries me.

I'm asking because a friend has been left on as part of an inheritance and he's un sure if it's legeal to take position of it w/o BATF or State Police involvement?

Thanks for your input.

Dunno about in Maryland - - -

- - - But most other places, it is nothing but a big, clumsy pistol.

It was manufactured AS a pistol and was no more restricted in sale and possession than any other handgun. (Actually, I thought they were still in production.)

It would certainly be illegal to attach a regular TSMG shoulder stock to it, as it would then become a Short Barreled Firearm.

Auto Ordnance sold them with normal capacity magazines - - Frequently with a 39-round drum. And, pre-ban or not, they are legal to use with all magazines produced prior to the ban.

Not to worry, so long as the state doesn't have some extra-restrictive laws. :D

Best,
Johnny
