Pulled the forend off one of 870 WM's with the intention of changes the forend wood. Got the tool from Brownells, pulled the forend off the 870, slid the tool into position and ... nothing, absolutely no movement. The nut has been on there for maybe 30 years (assuming it's never been removed) and while it may be rusted in place, there is no rust visible on this shotgun. I've used Kroil and while it seemed to seep in it hasn't helped so far.

Any ideas? My next option is to take it to a local smith and let him remove it. I'd like to keep the forend wood intact because it looks like a nice piece of straight grain walnut, so no destructive devices are being considered. TIA
