I mounted an Aimpoint ML3 on my flat top AR. The instructions indicate that the sight is delivered in a centered position and that only small adjustments are necessary. I took it out today and could not hit paper from 50 yards.

Can anyone give me some suggestions.

Take the upper receiver off of the lower and bore sight it @ 25 yards. Then fine tune it when you fire it. How you mount the sight plays a important roll in how much adjustment is needed for it to be sighted in. Aimpoint has no control over how you mount the sight.

...Or if your rails aren't straight etc. Boresighting is easy and should get your right on to the paper.

agreed, eliminate teh variable that it could be the gun. Get the boresighting and iron sighting done. Then zero the AImpoint. Mine too several clicks in either direction. I have mine jacked up a little high so that was a no brainer.

I have learned that equaly importnat to a quality sight, is a qaulity mount. I have the Arms mount throw lever. It re zero's every time. Just follow good practices when installing it to a mount you can rely on.

Do you have the correct mount that will allow cowitnessing?

If so, zero your irons and then simply put your dot over the front sight afterwards. Fine tune it by making adjustments when grouping.
