I would appreciate any help identifying the barrel on a semi custom rifle built by J. P. Gunstocks in Nevada . It is a 54 cal and the only marking is ..........Lancaster.........stamped on it . Got any info ? Thanks in advance !

My mistake it doesn't matter. He used Green Mountain barrels and L&R Locks and triggers. All very good stuff. He went out of business in the 90's.

I used to carry his rifles in my muzzleloading shop. His name was Jim Surles (?), and he offered two or three styles of rifles; a "Lancaster", and a "J. Henry", .50 & .54 caliber, for the the fur trade enthusiasts.

Jim Searles maybe??? My mistake he also used Green River Rifle Works barrels of 'Doc' White fame. Hmmm on second thought maybe not a Green River barrel I just don't see the connection between the two. Definitely he used Green Mountain barrels.
