I bought a box of ussr 7.62x54R today and all of the bullets in the shells were copper, cept one witch was silver. I checked 7.62x54R.net but nothing. If anyone can enlighten me I would greatly appreciate it.

Cant get a good pic, heck I can't read it myself with or without my glasses lol but I'll try to get the numbers.

I just noticed it doesn't stick to any magnets so it can't be steel. Maybe it's the uber anti wolf round :O

It appears to say that so yes.

ETA: All the others have diff headstamps with Russian on them so I can't read them. But I have never seen one that looked like it had a steel bullet o.o

I would guess steel jacket, much like Swiss GP11 in 7.5Swiss.

However, not knowing for sure what it is and only having one of them, I'd probably just hold on to it and not shoot it.

My guess would be a copper/nickel alloy. I have Turk 8mm with copper colored bullet jackets from one year and cupro-nickel from other years.

Is it magnetic? If not, we know it's not steel (meaning i was wrong) but if it is it could still just have a steel core and not a steel jacket.
