My uncle has recently passed away, and my aunt is trying to find out how much his Ithaca 100, side-by-side double barrel shotgun is worth. He bought it new in 1981, and probably never shot it. I don't know what gauge it is, but I have my mom trying to find out.

Anybody know how much it's worth? She's trying to figure out if it's worth selling, giving away, or just keeping. Thanks!

I believe the Ithaca M100 is made by SKB, there should be a stamp on the gun somewhere identifying this. The 100 was made in 12 and 20ga.

The Blue Book values from last years book rate it in 98% condition as $425, add 20% for 20ga, add 10%-15% for fully engraved receiver with pheasant, or duck/quail and a dog game scene if in 98%+ condition. Subtract 15% if with less than 50% engraving coverage.

The M100 varied quite abit during the course of production in the amount of factory engraving (engraved animals or not), the quality of wood, style of checkering, and also had either silver or gold tigger. This model should also be checked carefully for hairline cracks in the buttstock, where it joins the receiver. Also beware of bluing wear on receiver bottom, and on the front and back of the triggerguard. (from Blue Book)

95% condition $380
90% $340
80% $310

This was from blue book, hope it gives you some idea of it's worth. Could be possibly more as the SXS market is pretty good right now.

I have one, it is indeed made by SKB, great Japanese SxS. A good article on these was in Shooting Sportsman this past year. I will have to try and dig a copy out to refer to for more info.

I would advise you to look at some of the double gun forums for advice, as these are going for significantly more than the Blue Book quotes. kudu gave you the key when he mentioned that the SxS market is pretty good right now. I would imagine that a clean example, with the emphasis on clean, would likely bring about double what the Blue Book lists right now.
